  This review is for back in 2000 when she worked in Chester. I went to see her with a lump in my neck which she immediately dismissed as a gland. When friends and family badgered me to go back she had changed her mind to it being a cyst, When I asked for a referral she said I would be wasting the hospitals time but she did agree to refer me as non urgent. 6 months later I finally got my appointment and within seconds the consultant said he was concerned and this was the worst place in the body to have a lump. He didnt understand why I hadnt been referred for urgent attention. I was diagnosed with Cancer of the saliva glands and within a few weeks they had carried out 2 operations to try and remove it. After those I was told I would need major surgery as they couldnt get it all out. That was a success thank god and then I went for 6 weeks of intense radiotherapy. At one time we were informed that I had a 30% chance of surviving 10 years. All a long time ago but I have since suffered from years of dry mouth and sciatica / bad back from the radiotherapy. All of this could have been avoided if I had been referred as urgent and got into the hospital 6 months earlier. So for that Stella - 1 out of 5 may be generous
